Hi, I am Mary.

I am an independent retirement planner for federal and postal employees, based in Daytona Beach, in Volusia County, Florida. My work is teaching people their own benefits, then building a plan around their lives.

How I came to this work

I started in this business after the 2008 crash, helping families with mortgage protection. Again and again, I watched people learn too late that the mortgage insurance they had paid for protected the bank, not them.

From there I moved into Medicare, and then into the work that became my calling: federal and postal employees. For years I drove up to 140,000 miles a year, walking into the back of post offices and federal buildings to meet people where they work.

I saw how much they gave to their jobs, and how little anyone had explained about their own benefits. That is still why I teach first.

How I work

  • Rapport first. I get to know you, and the people you love, before we talk about anything else.
  • Education always. You will understand each option before you decide anything.
  • No pressure. You decide in your own time. I will never rush you.
  • As many conversations as it takes. One review or five, you are never billed.

How I get paid

Through the companies I represent. You are never billed for a review or any service.

Insurance companies pay agents like me a commission when a client chooses one of their products. If you decide nothing is right for you, that is fine, and you still owe nothing.

Faith and family

I am originally from South Africa. Faith and family sit at the center of my life and my business, and many of my clients have met my children and my parents.
